Target Center

is a multi purpose arena located in Minneapolis, MN and is home of the Minnesota Timberwolves of the NBA, the Minnesota Lynx of the WNBA and the Minnesota Valkyrie of the Lingerie Football League. Originally built and managed by the owners of the Timberwolves in 1990, the City of Minneapolis purchased the arena in 1995. Target Center, Minneapolis MNAfter several management changes over the next 10 years, the city has finally found a long term management company in AEG Facilities. The arena is the first major venue in North America to feature a “green roof”, which is a roof that has actual vegetation growing on top.

In 2004, the arena underwent a major renovation that featured the replacement of all 19,000+ original seats and the addition of nearly 1,500 additional seats; in addition, the lower bowl was reconfigured to make the arena more fan-friendly. In addition to basketball and football, the arena hosts major concert tours, the WWE, UFC and children’s and ice shows.

General Venue Information

Directions

North: Take 35W south to the Washington Avenue exit. Take a right on Washington Avenue and proceed up to 1st Avenue and take a left. Take 1st Avenue to 6th Street. Target Center will be on your right.

South: Take 35W north to the Downtown Exits and follow the 5th Avenue Exit. Take a left on either 7th Street. Proceed to 1st Avenue, Target Center will be on your right.

East: Take 94 West to the 11th Street Exit. Follow 11th Street. Turn right on to Hennepin Avenue. Turn left on 7th Street. Target Center will be on your right.

West: Take 394 East and exit 6th Street. Proceed one block to 1st Avenue. Target Center will be on your right.

NOTE: Due to recent construction and the opening of Target Field, please pay close attention to signs and changes in traffic routing aroung Target Center.

Parking

There are a wide variety of parking options in downtown Minneapolis.

ABC/Hawthorne Ramps: There are 7,000 parking spaces adjacent to Target Center in the ABC & Hawthorne Ramps. With access directly from I-394 and I-94, these ramps may fill quickly and empty slowly – useful for guests staying long after events.

Downtown Parking: There are nearly 25,000 parking spaces in 38 parking lots and ramps throughout downtown, with most providing a short walk or convenient bus and LRT connections to Target Center.

On-street Parking: There are limited on-street, meter-controlled parking spots throughout downtown with pedestrian and transit access to Target Center.

Public Transportation
Target Center is near several Metro Transit bus routes and one block away from the Warehouse District light rail transit station. Visit www.metrotransit.org for more information.

The box office hours are:
(May 1-September 30)
Monday-Friday = 10:00am to 6:00pm
Saturday-Sunday = Closed except for events and event onsales

(October 1-April 30)
Monday-Friday = 10:00am to 6:00pm
Saturday = 10:00am to 4:00pm
Sunday = Closed

The box office opens four hours prior to an event on days it is closed, and is open for all event onsales.

The box office accepts cash, Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover.

Will Call

TICKETS PURCHASED IN ADVANCE:
Tickets purchased in advance may be picked up 48 hours after purchase at the box office.

TICKETS PURCHASED ON THE DAY OF THE EVENT:
Tickets purchased on the day of the event may be picked up two hours prior to event time at the box office.

Customers claiming will call tickets must bring the actual credit card used to purchase the tickets, their Ticketmaster account number and valid photo ID.

PLEASE BE AWARE OF THE FOLLOWING: There will be an increased security presence both inside and outside the Target Center.

Fans entering the Target Center may be subject to security checks by metal detecting hand wands. Briefcases and pocketbooks will be allowed in the Target Center, but will be inspected at all entrance gates.

Once you have entered the arena, you will not be allowed to re-enter the Target Center for any reason.

Children Rules

Children 24 months and under do not need a ticket if held on the ticket holders lap. For children’s shows such as Sesame Street Live, Barney, The Wiggles and Dragon Tales, children 12 months and up need a ticket.
